Dear Colleagues, The Department of Economics and the Centre for Economic Institutions and Business History at the University of Reading, UK are pleased to host the 8th annual “Contests: Theory and Evidence” conference on Monday 20 June and Tuesday 21 June in a hybrid (in-person and online – in the UK time zone) format. The submission deadline is in less than a month: 15 April 2022.

  • This year the keynote speaker is Prof Debraj Ray, Julius Silver Professor and Professor of Economics, New York University. Other confirmed speakers include: Prof Luis Corchon (UC3 Madrid), Prof Kai Konrad (MPI Tax Munich), Prof Dan Kovenock (Chapman University), Prof Aner Sela (Ben Gurion University).

    We cordially invite theoretical, experimental, and empirical work on any aspect of contests: including but not limited to economics, management, psychology, sports, biology, neuroscience, computer science, etc. Please submit your paper or an extended abstract (2 pages), along with an abstract within 100 words on the conference website by 15 April 2022.

    Key dates:

    Submission deadline: 15 April 2022.
    Acceptance decision: 30 April 2022.
    Registration deadline: 20 May 2022.
    Conference: 20-21 June 2022.
